Assignment:
Consider a role you may be interested in applying for to complete a placement year, or an
internship you may want to apply for. (Please remember that this is just an exercise and in no
way a commitment to apply for this role later). Clearly state the role in the title of your
assignment.
Part A. Prepare your CV as if you were applying for the role/or the internship. You can use
your own personal details (name, address, etc.) or fake contact information (e.g.name, email,
but not giving fake experiences).
Note: there is no maximum word count for this part, but the CV should not exceed two pages.
NB on presentation: We will not be providing any specific guidance concerning
font/formatting/spacing/margins, etc. – a clear and professional presentation is expected, but
it is up to you to make these choices.
Part B. Based on the state of your current CV (as of date of writing) and the job opportunity
you are interested in applying for, pragmatically reflect on what you can do in the following
one year to improve your CV and position yourself as a suitable candidate for the position.
Note: the maximum word count for part B is 500 words. A small number of Harvard-style
references is expected. References will illustrate your research about the job / organisation /
sector and use of reflective models, if any. Remember to refer directly and honestly to your
own experience.https://weibo.com/u/7916053997
Parts A and B are weighted equally. For Part A, a mark will be awarded for the way your CV is
presented and matched to the position you are applying for. For Part B, please see the marking
criteria below.
